Lions Skins has launched a new line. I had the pleasure of preview some of there skins (and like an awful blogger am running late on my commentary.)

I didn't want this to be a pointing out all the points in a skin, people can find those out for theme selves buy demoing the product. I did how ever fall in love with this makeup! I love the contrast of the Aqua and Yellow, its also not symmetrical which makes for all the more interesting.

Lion Skins to me is a newish brand and im really excited by this last release. With over 40 diffrent makeups in each tone theres somthing for everyone from wild and excentric to classic and demure.

I went a bit mad i think on trying to match colours >.< The first place i looked in my inventory for some colour was the AOHARU folder. I remember stumbling on this shop just after they ed bought the sim and being amazed by Machang's creativity. She never fails to deliver something fun and fresh.

Lace Up Boots and Feather

This is just a quick post (i apologize for the lack of updates but i doubt many people noticed :P)

I put this mash up of an outfit on today and just had to snap it whilst i had a chance. Its was in fact Apatia Hammer that finished it off with these wonderful boots that she herself was sporting at the time.

These chunky men's boots mixed with feather and muted tones is just right in my opinion, juxtaposed, surreal and rather silly.

I'm sort of wearing the New paper couture that I'm sure will soon become rather over blogged. I have to say this has been my favorite line they have done as of yet. Its much more quirky although i was sad not to see a show debuting it all. I personaly feal thats part of there appeal, drama and a big show and tell of goodies.

Black and White Ball

I think is highly likely atm my tech issues are subsiding (huzzah!). This is a look i often wear in RL, a mans short or thick leggings and what can only be called bitch boots. Sadly in SL you don't get the same volume from the mans shirt but i think this little number works well.

If you can see iv have been playing with my shape a fair bit recently, just generally refreshing my look a wee bit. This current version was made with the new MMS Moscow skins in mind.

The shirt for this outfit as i mentioned before if from a mens section, i love the Saturday night fever thing that comes with this!

Candy Winter

I've been out of world quite a lot recently due to technical issues (any mac user out there will know what i mean) but when I've been logging in iv found myself playing more and more with outfits and not building as i meant to.

Judging from the weather in jolly old England its well and truly winter and therefor outfits must be decided accordingly. I love and hate "fall" fashion and this season has been no different. My main issue with the season is the lack of colour in most collections and sheer drabness's. If your going to wear black then do it with flair not out of a winter wardrobe habit.

This hair was a great find, its has such a wind swept diva quality. Its frame lips perfectly, showing of my candy smackers rather well if you ask moi. I wanted this look to have a plain-ish center piece so this jacket was a natural choice a new release from BomBon and its availble for both MEN AND WOMAN (cough men go see it theres a whole section of yummyness for you lot)

My dress (worn under the jacket) is a great little find. Originaly i picked it up for a post i wanted to do on wearing trends in a slightly diffrent mannar. Im in love with tarten this season in bright colours. Whilst not the most sohpitcated of looks, when paired with wellies i think this look has enough fun to keep you warm in those cold pixels :P

Offensive Colour

I'm back (err sorta) and i was having a think about my personal style in RL and relating that back to SL. Not to sound big headed but in RL chances are you'll notice me, if your eyes don't hurt from my colour combinations I'm not wearing enough colours frankly :p

Offensive Colour is what some people might see. I think is fun in pixel fabric personally.

(P.S) I'm having the same issue with pics as all mac users atm therefor sorry for them being lower rezz

New at Cashmere

This will just be a shortish post because I'm a bit strapped for time atm. I will no doubt be highlighting more fun items from this new release in the future.

Cashmere dropped a new release on use last night and for anyone who want bold colours and fun prints, this is the shop for you. There are plenty of Giannis signature high waists in her newer items as well as a full on store revamp.

I wanted to highlight the jeans, think there are wonderful skinnies and with a lot of coloured jeans just hitting the market, i think there hold there own. Comining in low rise and high waist in a viariaty of colours.

All the other clothes im wearing in the pic are cashmere as well :)

Lazy Night Cub Haze

This outfit basically stemmed from reading a lot of RL fashion blogs all set in LA, i wanted something unassuming and chic. An outfit you could roll out of a club in or as easily pick up your all vegan lunch and drive your preius in :P

The Jacket from Bare Rose comes from a rather manic shopping trip there today. I do just love them, i always find at least 5 thing in the new section when i go in alone, and becuase the outfits are so in-expensive i dont even think, just click :)

I wanted to mix the jacket with somthing more fresh hense the denim shorts, socks, Killer heels and big glasses. The perfect combo if you ask me :)

I also for the first time in a while dug out my loveys skins :) I like how the harsh bright red lip makes this outfit look slightly dated even with the modern elements

Las Arenas Rosadas

Las Arenas Rosadas

Cruising through flickr, I happened to see pics by Jean Ricard Broek of the beautifully crafted island of Las Arenas Rosadas, and had to see for myself if what came across in the pictures would be the same inworld. And I wasn't disappointed.

Sure, the wait for all the sculpties to rezz was long, longer if your graphics are on higher settings, but once it's all loaded you can see it's definitely worthwhile. Every piece of the island is so beautifully constructed, from the rich greens of the windswept palm fronds to the shadowing and reflections on the sand and magnificent water, once you begin to take a closer look at the quality of the work it's actually quite amazing.

Las Arenas Rosadas

This is an idyllic spot for photography as no post processing on the landscape is necessary, and optimal for explorers as the creator, Naiman Broome, has crafted a very realistic-looking and well thought out island. It all looks lovingly thought out, there's no sign of trees just copied and thrown around to fill space, every stretch of beach appears to be it's own private area but the island as a whole seems like it was plucked straight from a postcard.

Placed inside the hut along the shoreline are some of the natural features available for sale. Besides copyable palm trees and the hut itself, my favourites were the different water conditions you could buy. The colours and sun reflections on the waves, foams and washes that Naiman has made had me gobsmacked, the detail is insane.

Las Arenas Rosadas

Once I'd overloaded on snapshots and environment setting play, I moved on to some of the neighbouring sims, namely Las Islas, where Naiman has a fashion store surrounded by more small islands, and Las Rocas, which is still under construction but looks to be a cuban-feel resort town. Whether or not you can afford to buy what's on offer, it's set among a lovely location.

I appreciated how much it felt like I really was walking around on an expert recreation of a real island, Las Arenas Rosadas definitely raises the bar for what talented creators can do, and if nothing else is just somewhere that's pretty to look at and fun to poke around in for awhile.

This look is a simple derivative from the idea of hard and soft. Chunky leather jackets and a nude girly colours. It took a fair amount of experimentation to make it all work but over all i like it.

These jackets are fantastic the sculpties make them very structures and even more bulky looking. It alos come with several chioce of back motif (i meant to get a picture but i didn't my bad)
To juxtapose this i wanted nude feminine colours with a chiffon feel. I really enjoy juxtaposing textures like this in SL

The top took a bit of mix and match, it comes with a layerd undershirt that was too gold for this look so i mixed it with a vest instead (i wish ther was more than one long layer on the SL mesh)
The belt was simple done to cover the jion in the trousers and top.

I really want the shoes to say tough to so these were a good pick, although i over wear them i just love the shape of them. Peep Toes are hard to come by in SL and these tesla ones are perfection. I wish she would make more colours :D

I am holding a bag but it seems to have got lost in the poses :(

The hair and skin were an easy match. I'm completely in love with these new nylon skins, before now they never suited me but i think the lips just really pop on this new release and are well worth a look. (gotta go back for the fat pack :D)

The hair is from Kin iv been a long time fan of there stuff and particularly like the hand drawn fringe on this style.

Colour Colour and More Colour

I think before you read this post you should go watch the mini cartoon by maki loulou, about a homicidal and jealous zebra due to his monochrome shortcomings.

I stumbled on this funny cartoon and it set ideas of in my head. Sl is a world without rules therefor some day its just plain fun filling your face with as much colour as you can. Mina Junk has been a skin line iv kept my eye on for a bit and with this new set of skins i hope everyone else starts looking into this exciting line of fun skins.

Before we move right onto the skins I'm going to bore you all with the outfit i put together to wear them with. Gab a cuppa :)

I basically wanted to put as many colours as i could. No regards to clashing ect. Looking at this image now I'm actually wearing something very similar in RL atm. I'm not sure if this is becoming a rut style wise I'm in, ill mix it up on the next post. I think my particularly issue with my SL style is that iv never been that interested in attracting the other sex over SL. So the idea of "attractiveness" or glamor never shines through.

Back to the skins, i simply love the pout on them, apple like lips. The brows also, i like that there so fine, perfect for very light hair.

Cool Hues

While I was in the ensemble mode I ended up with this, a kind of cutesy winter throw-together. I started with the summer dress from <3 Cupcakes, a place I'm very fond of as the prices are always dirt cheap but the dresses are gorgeous and can be mixed with each other or into the rest of your wardrobe very easily. Again I love the ruffle collar and went with GLAM's from their Tweed and Ruffles outfit. I really wanted some kind of hat or headpiece and this anchor hat from Chapeau tres Mignon was perfect.

It's all very matchy matchy colour-wise but I took a break from trying to experiment with clashing colours and got this look fairly quickly without actually looking for too much blue.And here is the rest of it. I should also mention I just bought a load of poses from mela's and really it was sorting them and playing around with them a bit that led me to this outfit.

Yome Shoujo

Not professing any skill in putting together an ensemble, I give you my interpretation of a neat dress I found at Yome Shoujo. One of my favourite things about SL is that I know some truly creative and bizarre people, and they challenge and tempt me to broaden my horizons and think a little differently about things. Marni's own talents and her keen appetite for things japanese mean I've been exposed to some unusual and fantastic designs, and when I came across jigi, it was too quirky to pass up.

The trick for me is that with such a busy item of clothing, what do you add to it to enhance the look without going too far and just turning it into a loud screaming mess of colour? It's easy to wear youki's designs on their own as their bright colours and wild patterns stand on their own, but here I attempted to merge the jigi dress into something you might see on the street. See what you think, pass or fail?

Lights, Camera, Pose [Peche Review]

I personally love poses in SL, i mainly end up buying silly ones one of my favorites is a chicken dance animation. As for good quality fashion poses i normally just stick to the obvious brands and don't venture out. But when i tryed these poses from Peche, i added them straight into my blog/modeling pose ball. I love simple stand poses, none of this big fashioney arms and pouting. So these are perfect for me.

Her animated stand one is possibly the cutest pose I've seen in SL point blank. It along with the rest of her stock is perfect for AO's. I always think simple Ao's are much more elegant than all the standing on your tip toes nonsense.

The owner of Peche Shayna Doobie from the name like peaches. She also has a cute necklace and bracelet set with the aforementioned fruit on. (i hope she makes a broach as well). You can also buy the Gina poses in a Premade AO, which is excellent if like me you cant work those damned Zhaos.

Accessories make the look

Today i was Thinking about the importance of Accessories and just how much they can change a look. So after this entry Accessories Dominate you Life had such a good response i thought id play with that idea more. This time i wanted to take an outfit and see how many ways i could change ti by adding Accessories' (its fairly self explanatory tbh)
Here is what i started with:

Look One: Girly Whirly Brights

This is basically a summer look using brights with no regard to whether they match perfectly. I personally like clashing colours and this is possibly a bit safe for me but over all i like it for a starting point in this little experiment.

The Pinks of coarse make it girley along with this soft looking flowery tote bag and Flowery shoes.

Look Two: Winter Warmer

Again i Kept the girly Theme but went for something more wintery. I am aware it summer, but i am also very aware I'm English therefor Summer is but a mystical season we just have Dull.
The Sunglass keep it somwaht seasona i guess. Whilst technicaly not directly accessories i feal layering always adds dimension to outfits in Sl or Rl.
Lastly i can probably see a few raised eyebrows at the fact im wearing my socks over my jeans... This was infact a trend for a calvin cline advert from fall 07 that i feal in love with. I do this alot in RL it just keeps you legs cozy even if you do look like your emulating superman a tad :P

Look Three: Anyone for a Pow Wow this Afternoon?

I felt it was Time to Crank up the oddness...
This War bonnett has been somthing im always trying to wear but well not really sure what with. Personaly whilst not the most sophicated outfit possibly my favorite even if i am bald under that hat. I think the pudding it in the picture on this one.

Look Four:I do Opulence How you do Breakfast

This was basically me standard snob look, Fur coat.... check, Tiny dog to attack toe rags... check.
Now were is my butler to carry this heavy bag?

My friend Miraya welcome post gave me the idea for the bag. This in fact the bag Tesla shoes come in but it works well as a shopping bag thrown into an outfit. Theses elton jhon glasses just scream diva a new release from [CRAP] the rhinstones say it all.

Look Five: Tough Glamor Bites

This is probably the most simple look here. I wanted the eyelashes and tattoos to be the main focal point. The juxtaposition of the feathers and Suicide Girl style tattoos makes for an interesting look. This necklace was a find after searching and searching for a cross necklace that was less Christ and more grungy. Found in a very good Japanese Jewelery store and is well worth a look if you haven't been yet.

Iv been long standing fan of BBBM, in fact i remember her very first store (the floating sky box with a roof terrance complete with AK). Sl needs more fashion brand who has such an honest humour in there clothes.

This is one of her new dresses just released in her retrology sim. Whilst she hasn't finished moving yet completely its worth heading down now for a look.

As for the some what odd photo, well i feel iv been getting a tad complacent and frankly dull with how I'm presenting things atm. This hair which is part of the hat has been a favorite of mine that i always wear but never really wear. I always feel its wearing me if that makes sense. This is of coarse a trait more often found in RL fashion but i seem to be transcending it.

The set this was taken on was one i actually built a while back and never really used. I enjoy building sets actually for clothes i think it make the photo seem more personal which is hard to do with pixels. Annie Leibovitz eat your heart out :D

Also sorry for just the one photo i took more but i felt this one summed the whole thing up so well, why add more?

Anyway as i said iv been away from SL, and well i logged in today and just had so much fun wandering sims and seeing build ect. I think Sl is something everyone needs a break from to truly appreciate the creativity in it. In fact shortly after this clothes post I'm going to post some of my favorite spots from today!

Also ill warn you now, the photo arn't that good. I have a new comp which is currently PS so i used mac iPhoto to crop these. After id taken the Polaroid ones i realized i hadn't set my image nearly high enough so sorry for the pixels! High rezz is my friend i know :P

This Outfit started with my surrounding actually(more in the next post)I wanted something suitable girly. This new dress is becoming a favorite of mine it encompasses nautical stripes (that i am oh so fond of) and the sculptie skirt is just so playful. Its just a happy piece.

The hair is the new curio (which I'm sure is filling the feed as we speak.I think this outfit sorta talks for its self tbh so more photos and the credits

Anyone get the pun..?

Newho I feel theses skin were judged before they were even released. In fact i think everyone in SL needs to take as THEY personally find. Not (Omg so and so said this, lets spam the biatch). Moving swiftly on because this isn't a drama blog, its a place for me and eyva to exhibit fashion and SL products as we see fit.

Personaly i have found the new zero line of skins, excellent. The other Gens were often to harsh on my shape but im loving how these look.

Onto the fashion :)

This isn't a totally Skin Review style post. I am planning on doing one but the next two weeks I'm busy taking over the RL world of fashion so one empire has to but put through to muzak hold.

I bought this Swimsuit Hoping to wear it a lot it being summer and all in RL, consequently England dreary weather has left me feeling thoroughly wintry even in SL. However we all need a ravey swimsuit after all there are so many rave swimming pools..... As ever being from AOHARU means impeccable technical skill, fun colours and designs and not everyone will have the stuff. I like to refer to them as the Japanese Armidi.

I dug out some of my favorite hair, i love this tone. Darker silvers i always feel make a more for more versatility skin wise. Any Hair designers out there only with a light silver (whilst being lovely I'm sure) I'd love a darker tone to!

I took these Pics at Hbox, i didn't realise you could do this with the water actually. Quite please i found this its a fun trick for some picks.

This Cover up was something a wonderful Japanese blogger pointed me to. Her name is Meru Lyle (Sofia has mentioned her before) I thinks she fabulous. So creative and always on the look out for new fashion.

Wearing your birthday Suit has never been so much fun!

Wearing your birthday suit and dancing all around. That's all you'll want to do in this collab from Mimi Coral of cupcakes and Rosemary Galbraith of Rosemar. Both skin designers in there own rights have teams up for this fresh faced line.

I think these skins have a definite mood to them. Theirs so cute and doll like (at least on my shape). I wanted to reflect that in some rather overly pure photos. I always think the technical side of skin its great but its when one really jumps up with a personality that makes it stand out. If it makes your pixel avatar have some life to it (i know a contradiction in every sense but stfu.)

When chooseing these skins i had such a choice over colour tone. In fact from knowing rosemars previous line she is never short of tones. No hair colour dare go unmatched. As with being a silver fox like moi i have to avoid overly pink tones and opt for a pale and ever so slightly yellow based tone.

You can definitely see elements of both the creators in these skins. I think as skin component they mix fantastically, you have a solid mix of hand drawn and photo real giving soft but convincing skins.

Now we've done about skin feelings let get onto the makeups and credits!

Iv always liked Adam and Eve they have been one of the first stores i went to in SL, and i know a lot share this memory. I feel bad that i didn't think to look there for skins until now because I've been most certainly missing out. This new Jodie line is wonderful, fun make up and a range of tones (I'm trying to go more tanned atm with the silver hair).

Sachi Kindly sent me these two to try out and I'm pretty sure ill be back for more. Although i do like very real textured skins iv always learnt more towards the hand drawn variety. Lovey was my first full set of skins in SL and these Jodie skin share the same porcelain skin quality's that i feel compliments my doll like shape. They have strong highlights without being greasy or shiny looking which is something i find quite common in SL skins. Delicate features, particularly the eyes. I like how shes has lightly used a contrasting eye shadow to the lips. Really makes them pop.

The Skin packs are sold for 1200l but you get a lot for you money. Each skin comes with and without a Beauty mark option and with and without pubic hair. I don't know about the rest of you but i cant stand it when you realise you forgot your SL wax or you skin doesn't have a no hair option, not a good summer look :P.

They also come with complementary manicures and pedicures for the tone and makeup option, this is a lovely touch i haven't seen yet in skins in SL and i hope it catch on.

If your wondering were these photos were taken, i built a little set for the. I felt these skins had such a pure look to them i wanted to make the photos have a juxtapostion of slightly outdated decor.

A common conversation I've been having since me and eyva changed the blogs name is;

"Hey are you that girl who had that blog erm erm style advisory" asked a normally superior fashionable figure
and i normally answer "yes that was moi, and yes I'm the short one"

The reason in fact we changed that blog was because we wanted to start talking more about content creation as a whole. It all feeds back into fashion believe it or not much like RL. I think there are so many ideas floating around atm that everyone bounces off each other (and i don't mean idea stealing). Its natural with all this creativity bustling amongst the throngs.

Another thing im quite passionate about is finding things to look an see in SL that arnt shopping. We all love it yes. But for when your fealing broke somtimes its good to put down the handbag and step away from the virtaul amex card.

Grey Amsterdam Nights

Ive been in an odd fashion mood lately. Lots of simple colours with maybe one bright tone to lift it. Ive also got a much paler skin... maybe we should blame the mark ryden influences still running through my taste buds.

I wanted to created something here that was quiet quirky without being loud. And unfortunately i got such an idea of this outfit in my mind i had to combine a lot of things to make the outfit.

I did struggle a bit with the setting i originally wanted a canal boat but instead ill settle for an absinthe bar and canals. I love the mystery in this Sim and the images are barely edited so it does look that ghostly.

The violet in this outfit is defiantly the main colour contrasted against the red rose and antique golds and black. The start of the outfit was the hat. Originally grey i tinted the main part of the bowler and combined it with the veil. I really wanted these bright eyes shining behind the veil in a creepy way so this ice blue we perfect.

The necklace is a piece Ive coveted for a long time and only recently gone back to buy. From wandering the grid in my noob-esk days i remember seeing this in an old issue of second style.

I originally had a tinted black version of Alla ruff veschi, certain curtain dress on but round it was starting to look to bulky. I wanted this outfit to be less about silhouette and more about colour and texture. Sometimes this can create a boyish look, but i feel that with the soft lapels of the blouse it still looks feminine.

The socks are wonderfully ancient i think most people own them as well. But Nora Batty socks are for sure hot as ever. and lastly the shoes almost remind me of clogs which made them perfect for this Amsterdam/European/canal type look.

Mark Ryden Art Homage

I'm a fan of his work (as is most people on the grid hes the IT artist much like a handbag). Mark Ryden Crates wonderful and weird doll like images set amongst candy colours with a somewhat dark and sinister undertone.
Its this juxtaposition i think that has made them so appealing particularly in young art lovers.

Now there is an issue with this head they only I saw these dolls heads on a previous post (i cant remember who's if you tell me id like to credit the original blog.) This is only one problem with this product. As soon as you avatar moves it looks very distorted. Still it's a new concept for SL so you get just that. I think this product is still well worth the money for taking photos and the like with.

I also had to make an all new shape with a teeny tiny head so you'll look really odd if the sculpties appears unrezzed :)

My Flickr Crap

I mainly wanted people to focus on the head. Those eyes are so haunting and by using a head like this you run into no constraints of avatar mesh issues.

The bunny and Bird are both from happy mood. A shopMariya reminded me off , seeing as she can occasionally be found touting this bunny. Happy moods textures always look so soft and whilst being a we bit pricey i think are worth investing in.

The location of the shoot was in the creators pavilion Sim and whilst not being 100% what i wanted i couldn't be arsed to build a set for it. I might revisit this project and take more photos using this head.

Hello Campers!

I always get excited when something with the name Fleur comes my way. What ever it is. Tbh Ros and Cj could send me a letter bomb with Fleur on the label and id probably still open it with glee. (i highly doubt she would tho..) (for anyone who's not read this blog previously I'm in love with there skins, i stay no and then but end up back in them)

This Merry little preview pack arrived and well i wont lie, i did a little dance.

These belts are available from the 20th and will be in six style in six colours. There by far my favorite none prim belts I've seen so far. I often find prim belt annoying actually, they re size funny and look bulky. These just fit to your avatar form. All come on Jacket and Shirt layer meaning there easy to mix and match.

The range of style will suit any fashion sense. My favorite in the pink sash style (number 3) i cant wait for the full release of these baby's!

Viva La Glam!!

With the re-opening of the store Viva la Glam yesterday i was sure to go down and buy most of there new pieces. Although a tough choice this Bomber jacket is my favorite. Its very versatile and the textures are rich and eye catching.

The new collection itself has the same tones running through each of the separate all of which complement each other well. These shoes called Schmooze (are they made by storm schmooze for Viva la Glam?) i think make a perfect modern sandal for summer. There not the same peep toe strappy numbers we see all over the grid.

The textureing on everything is impeccable as ever, Charlos gets it right every time.

Onto the outfits

Funky and Casual
-This is possible the more obvious of the two looks. Automatically you think casual with a jacket like this. I paired it with the hot pink to of set the black. The top is from Paper Couture and is tinted to match the socks and bags. The Jewelery is all from ::69:: which i bought in there fantabulouse 50% sale which was one the other day. Now move onto my next look whilst i fill my car up to catch up!

Gown up Glamour
- This is a much less playful look. The dress is also from the new viva la glam range. I wanted to keep this much cleaner and bling free save for the clutch from Tap/Fleur.

Vamp it up Dont Tramp it up

With all the current pish posh drama that's been afloat in the virtual community. I decided to be self indulgent and dress up in a well dramatic way (see what i did there... oh so...er original?)

Iv also been doing a much needed inventory clean which somehow always turns into "whats been gathering dust and can i make fun outfits from it?". All the items in this look are old favorites. Possibly my version of classic wardrobe staples actually. I do love a giant tulle skirt now and again.

The hairs possibly my favorite form Coif. Paulie really is amazing when it comes to less is more in a prim sense. This hair is in fact only 3 prims. I think as far as blunt bob cuts this is vamping it up a notch. Its Uma in Pulp Fiction meets Techno Vamp.

The eye patch is and accessorise from Spica. If you lot haven't been to Spica yet just go. Drop everything and GO NOW. Everything is about 50l, well made and dammed cute. They make handbags, jewlary, tights and last time i looked they were rolling out some clothes.

The flower I'm hold are shiny things and whilst being a tad pricey from something slightly frivolous (yeah im tight ass with cash) the AO in them is brilliant. When holding them you have this wonderful wedding march when you move.

As for the location, i felt i needed a change for pics. Iv done some many studio ones and its time to experiment a bit. This is the landing point outside the velvet. A mate TR showed me this Sim earlier today iv been aware of the velvet for a while now but just stopped visiting. Methinks ill be breaking that trend.

[Fashion Schizophrenic - Metro Man]

Metrosexual ~ An urban male with a heterosexual orientation who rejects many macho attributes often linked to masculinity. ...

A lot of my male friends often claim it’s very hard to find interesting men’s wear in second life. In my opinion that’s only half true. I think a lot of men no matter how fashion conscious have to look masculine or main stream other wise we hear such whines as “omg id look like a homo in that”.

Its only in the last few years men have started to wear pink, even now a lot of them will still protest its raspberry or any other equally none feminine sounding colour tone.

Another common thing I’ve found a few people in SL assume is that I am male in RL. Its not true but I do like playing ken dress up occasionally on my avatar. I think because of the obvious challenges with men’s wear in this virtual format it make it’s a lot hard to find good things off the beaten track. A few people may be up in arms but after asking a few of my male friends they told me the mostly shop at Armidi and random. Now whilst both are very good shops no one wants to have the same stuff as everyone else. That completely defeats the whole point of fashion. Call it snobbery but clones aren’t hot.

Although I’ve lumped this in with my fashion schizophrenic posts I’m planning on showcasing a few shops with great menswear later on.

Onto the look:

As you can see I went for a snood as the starting point for this outfit. When I saw this piece in a rather unusual menswear shop I stumbled into today. From browsing round today I’ve seen so many grungy men’s store or punk theme apparel. But if your looking for casual wear outside these two categories and you want something slightly quirky or original. A.C studios is a great place to start. Whilst being rather flamboyant I think if you were to take the outfits apart, they could be tailored to fit most styles.

I’m personally not a fan of bare arms on men. I think it looks somewhat tacky so layering a t-shirt underneath and gloves solved this. I think my gloves obsession is officially a fetish I barley take gloves off. These are from DoMoCo and you’ve all seen them probably 100 times on this blog.

Onto something slightly obscure. Normally cropped trousers on men are a BIG no. You can mentally hear “ankle swingers” as they wander by. But I though by adding the juju cuffs from tres blah (which were free!) to my female GLAM jeans I created an acceptable height for a turn up. I hope no one is screaming faux pa at me currently…

And lastly a quick thank you, I didn’t make this shape so if anyone is admiring it you have Mariya to blame. I think this is the male version of her shape. (I knew there was a reason I looked better :P) ty M

[Review] BomBon

This Designer was someone iv been following for a while on her Flickr account. She seems to have been making things for a while and just not release them until the other day when she finally opened her shop!

So frankly I had to go and buy it all :)

This bright summery hippie style is popular amongst Japanese designers and personally love it. Its light hearted whimsical.

The thing I particularly admire about these dresses are that the short and tops that are worn underneath have details on so they can be worn as separates which I think its and excellent touch.

This brand new shop litterly just had thing added to it and im really excited to see how it grows. This necklace set is well, impressive. Just simply called shell its a mix of hippy chic and delicate craftmanship. I even IMed the creator when the shop empty b/e it was decorated so nicly just to see when she was adding things. I really hope eveyone seeing these images goes and has a look i can see good things coming from this little cube.

Accessories dominate your life.....

Oh I don’t know whats come over me recently I’m actually updating out blog I mean WTF? I’m so lazy normally :P

Anyways it was mentioned on one of yesterdays comments about my eccentric and elderly post that they liked how I piled on accessories. So I had a little pontificate over the matter.

I’m a complete accessories junky in RL and SL I will try and wear anything (as you with see in the credits). In fact Gillian dearest has had a right laugh about my obsession to wear furniture particularly chairs and lamp hats. These less successful experiments weren’t that well documented….. thankfully. (Gillian keep the chair couture snaps to yourself thank you!)

[Fashion Schizophrenic - Dreamey]

Part two of my fashion schizophrenic series. Today I picked a dream like fashion sense which it’s highlighted in the odd selection of colours. Normally maroon, purple, nude and gold are my first picks but I like how these tones mixed.

I wanted to shy away from the obvious floaty dress for a dreamer like look. Id prefer for it to be almost theatrical. Hats and gloves as ever ended up in the outfit. I think I have a glove addiction you know. I always wear them regardless of season.

I tried to soften the lines with the hair and the legwarmers both making use of transparency in the textures.

I think my favourite part of this outfit is the skirt which is part of a dress from <3>

Lastly I feel I should note a bit on my skin choice. It’s from Mia Snow a shop I’ve always known about from her flickr images but never really looking into it. I stopped by the other day and fell in love with a few of them. The makeups are so fun but still all wearable, mostly in pastel colours. I really loved this on it reminded me of a Russian doll.

It’s safe to say I’m a fashion schizophrenic. I hope you are to!

No this doesn’t mean I need to have medical help its just a term I like to use J. I think the harder you look you’ll find a lot of people out there with this trait. Its like when you were a child and you’d raid a dressing up box and become a princess or a witch for the afternoon. That’s the same joy I feel everyone should get from fashion. Open your closet and who are you going to be today? A Snooty Socialite? An Avant-garde Art student? A Hobo Heiress?

I decided over the new few days to document these whims of mine seeing as in SL you can do anything to become someone else. Today I decided I wanted to be Eccentrically Elderly. An odd starting choice possibly but currently in RL I feel about 60 (those who know why I hope you think this is funny: P)

As you can see I’ve modded my shape a tad to add some jowls and look older. The skin aids to this a lot because of the heavy light shading on the brow and forehead. If anyone does decided to age it up I suggest only using 100% hand drawn skins as they blend better. I was finding other skins looked odd and patchy with eye bags added to my shape. Especially ones with Eye shadows stretched a bit funny

Society RL and SL defines attractiveness as youthful but I personally think there is an elegance in age. One that is killed as soon as you start to fight it. In SL I normally wear grey hair (in case you hadn’t noticed…) I always hope to carry this aging glamour through with it.

I thought the tiny clichéd dog was necessary it’s matched my somewhat bored and snooty face. Hopefully the dog will come in handy to attack the less fashionable. A good friend mariya gave that to me and I often carry a tiny dog/pet in SL for cute factor. Given their popularity in RL (*cough* Paris Hiltons tinkerbell were is it now?) they seem to be and unofficial handbag accessory for the overly wealthy and chic. At least the Virtual versions don’t need to have there poop cleaned up after (very unglamorous in my opinion)

The hair particularly mad, was a must have when I saw it. After watching a bumble and bumble video about their recent campaign with Stephen Jones (GENUIS) I’ve really got into hats and hair being mixed together. The flower broke up my tiny bowler hat from being to harsh and the bow almost adds and 80’s flair.

Hello all J this is my first real post on artist tea party so I hope you all like it. Although this is in the style of a simple outfit format blog type thingy (ohh technical). I really want to showcase how wonderful the new blowpop skin is. I figured as a few people have bloged it already I’d avoid all that technical poop and just got with “yeah it makes me look freeking hot, heck even I fancy me”

I never wear underwear much in SL due to a distinct lack of a Mr Grut but this outfit is slightly racy but still wearable without in my opinion being hooker bling-tard supercalfragilistic.

Ill start with the hair, this refuge style was one I believe I picked up in a sale a while back. I haven’t worn it till now. It came with a ponytail which I changed into a bun. Doing this to hair is something I do a lot. Personally I don’t see it as wrong its like customizing your clothes in RL. For doing this instead of rezzing it on the floor and unlinking it all which can be an thoroughly nasty process if your not great are fitting hair, The clear texture will be you friend. Instead of simply deleting primes just move the ones you don’t want and make them transparent.

The outfit its self is a mix of old school Dazzle and a freebie I picked up at thimbles on a recent pilgrimage. The dazzle skirt I should say is curtsey of Emma Gilmour who gave it to me at an inventory swap, I’m surprised she parted with it tbh it might be from before the land of flexi but I love it.

The skin as I mentioned before is the amazing new pre-release from blow pop. I’m in love with this skin personally. It’s a big change from my usual skins as well. I never go for nude makeup and generally avoid realistic skins. Blowpop has been a shop I’ve liked but never been able to get to fit my shape. This new addition officially breaks that cycle. All I would say is that the brows for me needed so careful modding and I’m slightly sad the brows aren’t tintable.

The headphones are from a shop I’m planning on doing a full blog post on. These truly amazing acceroise from La Petite Prince are all steam punk or neko themed. But mix with the right things is very wearable. The prim work on all the items makes them really stand out and everything is under 250l.

Ill finish by mentioning the shoes. Tesla in my opinion makes the cutest sculptie shoes in SL there fun AND sexy. This newest colour fatpack is no exception. Spring/summer colours bring this classic shape right on trend.

Embiggen for better look

The last few days I've been quite obsessed with this new short do by mana Grut of Pochette. Picked up on a whim after flicking through the feed, I was pleasantly surprised at how great it looks on, the texture's well done and while short, this is still a feminine style. When new styles came out yesterday I bought the lot, and love them. The only hiccup was getting the wig to fit without making it too big for my head.

Curious for more, I tp'd to the main store, which was a treat. Besides hair, mana also makes poses, clothes and accessories. I'd already bought the picnic rug a while ago and I love it, but I also picked up these cute blue gingham pyjamas, which come in four or five different colours. Cuteness reigns at Pochette, all the dresses and sweaters are very sweet and perfect for winter, with modest hems and warm fabrics.

Take a look around at mana's varied stock, in particular the Cabochon Necklace. I wish I'd gotten a picture but it's a loose pendant necklace and you have a choice from a few different picture options. I wish I'd had more time to really get in and have a good long browse, but I was lucky and for about the second time ever, won the lucky chair and scored some sweet blue knit socks with antique lace trim.

Righto with mine and eyva slognish break even though weve been blogging a bit on this blog (its just be linked today yey!) and the ocasional post still on Style Advisory. I'm glad to announce we are now!

HERE!

The Reason for the name change was that me and eyva both feal there is more to SL than just fashion (dont cry please) and that alot of content creation and art is being over looked. Infact all this work feeds off each other so furniture is as relevent as shoes.

This blog will be showcasing wonderful flcikr snap we find and think are woth eveyone looking at, Explorers guides into sims we feal are well built and showcase real artisti talent. FASHION (well our rather large inveotry should be used for good and not evil), Art and other such items. I personaly would love to start talking about RL fashion as well a we bit but well see how the beast rolls

Been Around

I've been off here there and everywhere exploring and travelling the grid, and I just thought I'd share some pics of where I am and what I wore. These pictures have been modified in ps, as I've been learning how to blur a background. See if you think they worked out okay, I had a huge learning curve when I got photoshop last year and the sheer volume of tricks I know I have yet to learn is a little intimidating, but I'm getting there slowly. Anyway, these two photographs are intended to have a subtle blurring as the background is not that far behind the model.

This first shot is taken in Isle of Dreams, more of a date sim (music beware) but the fields looked very Sound of Music and that inspired a more wistful and innocent outfit choice. I began with the dress from <3 Cupcakes and my hair rose from artilleri, and it went from there.

The second shot was taken in ChouChou, a sim both celebrating music and offering some serious shopping. I fell for it immediately, wandering around and letting my twitchy camera finger go crazy, and then heading to the streets to shop, shop, shop. Besides a Grandma store, I found GiGi Couture, where I picked up these high waisted capris, which were included in the high waisted pants I purchased. Added to the Bazy skin I've been wearing non-stop, and an Armidi silk blouse, I felt very sophisticated.

And also I have posted this here because mine and Eyva’s new blog artists tea party isn’t linked up yet :(. I don’t normally post just outfits but I thought it might be fun as this is a style of blogging that seems to work nicely.

Moving swiftly on to the outfit. This is an outfit that just clicked as soon as I saw this skirt. Its part of a dress from thimbles a shop I was recently introduced to (I know slow on the uptake or what). The top is an old favourite of mine from glam. I also used this bolero from the panther outfit from Timberry.

Timberry is a brilliant shop and well worth a look, run by my friend Vewitful young he really is pushing the female silhouette in SL which is uncommon territory. I love wearing bright colours with chunky thick tights. It keeps the look young and more modern. The shoes are some really old ones I found floating round the bedlam of my inventory.

I don’t normally wear MMS skins but I needed something that was clean and pretty so this was an obvious choice. Part of her new makeups the red tones worked well with the skirt. The hair I literly picked up just this second from Maitreya, I’m still not sure how iv missed it every time iv been in there but I guess you learn something new everyday.

- There more reasons to explore now than ever before, now Emvee Cuba has popped up. Built by Menno Ophelia and Colleen Desmoulins, wander around and take a look at the fantastic builds. There is currently a photo contest going until May 16th for high-res pics of the island, the winner will receive L$10000, a large print of their shot, and consideration for a spot in the sim gallery. If you're like me and have an acute flickr addiction this is right up your alley!

- Even if going to see a play in RL isn't your cup of tea, SL Shakespeare couldn't be more highly recommended. I'm looking forward to seeing the shows(currently playing is Act 3 Scene 2 from Hamlet), partly to see technically how they manage to pull it off, it seems like a massive challenge and should be quite entertaining.

- Bake Sale! Try and buy all things frosted and deadly at Koreshan Pointe this weekend with a huge variety of baked goods-themed fun-ness(it's a word now). Watermelon bags, poison cookies, jellybean necklaces, it's all a bit mad and it's all good fun!

The new viewer, with Caliah's handy windlight help

- The harsh light of Windlight can again be conquered by following Caliah's tips over at Soigne. She also has a handy slurl to her store Muse, where you can pick yourself up a facelight. I'm always curious to see how other people play with their settings and Canimal's also got some settings you can download and tinker with yourself.

- Elysium Eilde, talented photographer and [ida] staff member, has taken some wild bitchfight shots at Photographing SL. Apparently there was some argument about who's taking the wardrobe home after a shoot, and all hell breaks loose.

- If you're looking for somewhere new to visit, or just feel like tp'ing around, stop by b-places a site which accurately lists the most popular places in SL. Forget the Popular Places tab, as New World Notes has reported, the listings on it are usually manipulated by camping chairs and bots. B-places is a slurl list of sims voted worth visiting byr esidents who have actually been there, no cheating involved.

- Cory Edo has done it again, with new release furniture designed for the Arc Luxury Lodge. Gorgeous, low prim pieces at a very affordable price, see the Arc set at Content Confessionals, where you will also find gorgeous prefab stores and houses.

Arts - Shoshana Epsilon

Photographer and mentor, Shoshana Epsilon has a strong passion for her art, constantly striving to show the beauty in SL® and sharing her skills with anyone willing to further their own. Fomerly a curator at the Cannery, Shoshana is a well-respected and loved member of the arts community, with permanent homes in several galleries across the grid.

You'll get to see her latest works when she becomes the official featured artist for the Avatrait gallery this month. Avatrait is an interesting company that recreates SL® photography into RL prints, and their gallery at Simuality is becoming one of the grid's most popular, with associated artists such as Kimberley Mirabeau, who was previously featured, and Stephen Venkman and Codebastard Redgrave, who serve on the advisory board.

Specializing in in-world photography with no post-processing, Shoshana's showing will open April 12, 1pm SL® and all pictures will be available for one-off sale, meaning once you own the picture you will be the only person to do so. The exhibition promises to be raw and a bit daring, and will be open for viewing for the rest of the month. A visit is highly recommended, and if you're curious, you can see some of Shoshana's current works at Artropolis.

Destinations: Time for Quiet Reflection

Rest, relaxation. Sometimes we just want to get away from it all. A little space to unwind, and just detach from the busy day for a while. Let's face it, the constant updates from favourite designers and new ones through Fashcon, the juggling of IM's from friends, customers, and perfect strangers, the little things you simply HAVE to do inworld, meetings, building, scripting, testing designs, it all builds up and before you know it logging in one morning becomes a chore. A holiday spot would be nice, even just somewhere pretty to go where there's no death metal or Kenny G making your ears bleed and you can just cruise.

I have a little place for you. I was looking around, sightseeing, and came across the Virgin Islands. More specifically, Hosoi Ichiba. When you land you will notice the Japanese architecture, of an old-style market built within luscious gardens, and itself surrounding a peace garden. In the mood for some relaxation, I at first turned around and walked through the gorgeous wooden roofed bridge to investigate a village I could see not too far away.

Walking through the village, I admired the huts and purchased one of the sweet chimes hanging from the gate. Blowing gently in the breeze, the soft chimes were soothing and I figured I could use some soothing at home. Backtracking down the path I took a turn and spotted a Samurai house. What attracted my attention was not the house itself but the onsen, a hot spa, right on the water. Perfect for some time to pause and think.

After a soak, I headed down another path, and after passing by some scenic lookouts decorated with meditation pillows, came across a clearing. There was a fishing village here, complete with a few boats, and some of the latest catch hanging outside one of the huts. I sat on the bank, watching the sun sparkle on the water, and after a pause, decided to see what was inside the market.

What is great about the market is that it incorporates itself into the garden, and the overall atmosphere of the place. Surrounded by garden, and in turn surrounding a small peace garden, the markets do not interrupt the calmness, the buildings themselves are well crafted which only enhances the atmosphere. I headed back to the main entrance and walked inside. Straight ahead I noticed a tea room, and sat down for a humble drink. Glancing around I noticed a few people were actually doing Tai Chi just outside, and decided to give it a try. No-one spoke, and before long I saw a stunning red tower I had to investigate.

A cute surprise was the Japanese rock garden I happened through on my way, perfect to sit by and reflect on, if they work for you. I headed through and over to the tower, which was in fact some kind of temple, complete with shrine and tools for worship. Browsing around I saw some well crafted rickshaws, and took a look at the homewares available in the market. If I'd been a little less poor after emptying PC yesterdayI would've bought a lot more.

I still haven't finished exploring properly, but around each corner I found something else to enjoy, a quiet spot to sit, a small garden, or a beautiful decor piece I wanted to buy. The construction and layout of the sim is wonderful, the texturing colours are bright and beautiful but not garish, and the design looks well thought out and built, but still keeps an element of wilderness and a root to nature with it. Hosoi Ichiba is a tranquil haven to relax and take a break, and I thoroughly enjoyed my all too short visit.

- Spring for the north is here! Celebrating the changing of the seasons, Paper Couture's new spring collection is finally here, and still moderateley priced! I've already scooped up the exquisite new hair and a few stunning ensembles.

- High style meets Street with The Lady and the Tramp. Chic high fashion meets dressed-down casual when Valena Glushenko and Rachelle Slade take a fashionable item and show you different ways of incorporating it into your style. This is a very new blog but I'm keen to see what the girls make of it.

- If you haven't made it back to the Mean Girls blog lately, run back and learn a few things, like the 'How to Leave SL' guide for every starfucker and attention whore who wants to make a grand temporary 'departure' for a while.

- Why not do something charitable while inworld today? Intel will donate $1USD (up to $10,000USD) to the Conservation International FOundation for every sunflower planted over at Intel Island. More details are at Counting Sheep, basically go plant a seed or 10 and you'll be doing a small bit to help. Quick, painless, and check the terms and conditions but most US residents will go into the draw for a laptop!

- See what's new at Appearance Mode, which has been refurbished as a community blog for resident designers of the sim. Random has just had a huge release of stock, and take a look at Garbage's cute promo video!
